Description
19th century Stanley USA No. 4 1/2 large size heavy smoothing plane. Black japanned body with old style frog with patented lateral adjuster. Original rosewood fittings with low front knob, rear handle has no cracks but is missing its spur at the top. Good close to full length original patented blade. Dates from around 1880 – 1890. Good clean condition for its considerable age.
