Why use a pad saw?

A pad saw works in much the same way as a keyhole saw. It is primarily used for cuttingsmall holes into soft woods, paneling or in drywall. These small holes are often needed for installing appliances, working with electrics or for running cables through. The long blade of a keyhole saw makes it the perfect tool for cuttingyour desired hole in a careful and accurate fashion.

The “pad” refers to the handle part of the saw.

One of the main advantages ofkeyhole saws is that the handle can be removed and other types of blades can be attached to give great versatility and use.
